Updo Tips – Face Types

Prom and Wedding Glamour
The Secret to choosing the perfect updo is matching your hair style to your face shape.
If you have an oval face you can pull off a variety of hair styles. Your features are well-balanced and almost every style can be achieved to look great on an oval face.
Round shaped faces tend to be round at the cheeks and have a circular form.
Updos for Round faces: Any hair style that adds focus to your crown works best. A French twist with curls piled on top looks very nice. As long as you have a focal point such as curls on top or tussled bangs to the side, this will draw attention away from the roundness of your face. Use off centre parts, as this will draw the eye to one side of the face and throw off the roundness. Styles to avoid:
- Slick back styles without hair touching your face.
- Do not add width around the sides of your face, this will make the face appear to be wider than normal.
- Straight, flat bangs will only shorten your face. Try tussled or side bangs

Spring/Summer Hair Trends
May 12, 2010
We’ve found that the short black haircut look ranges from classic to neo-rocker and can be cut with or without a fringe, as a bob or near-on pixie crop short. It works for most face shapes and skin colour.
The pixie bob with a longer fringe is also a hot new look.
For long hair we see hair buns, chignons, hair twists and top knots.
Spring/Summer Key Trends

We’ve scanned the magazines and fashion sites for key hot looks for Spring and Summer.
The top key trends include hot pants, tap pants, boy shorts, body suits, knee-high and over the knee socks, military and tribal clothing, the sportswear look, sheer fabrics, patterned and printed pants and the boyfriend blazer.
The “boyfriend” blazer is an easy way to look chic. A slightly oversized jacket or blazer, with sleeves rolled up, the “boyfriend” blazer is hip and flattering.
The sporty look turns to football for inspirations turning into tomboy chic for a sexy yet effortless look. Dance and 20s inspired tennis looks are also hot, and big bow headbands are the accessory of choice for the hair.
