PURPLE BRAIDED TOPKNOT

The elegant and sophisticated topknot with a jolt of unexpected color–using Joico’s playful InstaTint Temporary Shimmer Spray–makes a fab holiday party look!

Here’s How:

Step 1: Add a generous amount of JoiWhip to damp hair and tousle until dry.

Step 2: Smooth out all the face-framing edges so you can create a tame ponytail.

Step 3: Grab a thick triangular section of hair at the top of the head and clip the rest of the hair out of the way for now. Using Joico InstaTint in Pink and/or Orchid, spray that triangular bunch of hair in a swiping motion from roots to end. (Feel free to mix colors for an edgier look.)

Step 4: Now, let all the hair down, and using a blow-dryer on the cool setting, blow hair in a downward motion to smooth strands and help dry damp areas.

Step 5:  Spray the entire head lightly with Joico Hair Shake, going from roots to ends.

Step 6: Gather hair into a high ponytail and secure with an elastic.

Step 7: Braid the pony into a fishtail and secure the end with a clear elastic.

Step 8: Two options here. Either roughen up the braid by tugging on it gently side to and spraying with Power Spray. Or, add a dab of K-PAK Protect & Shine Serum to smooth out the fishtail and bump up shine.

Step 9: Begin to twist the braid until it wraps itself around the elastic band and anchor with several bobby pins.

Step 10: Smooth out flyaways and guarantee an evening’s worth of hold by spritzing the hair with Joico Flip Turn Volumizing Finishing Spray.
